AutoglassThe Belron Group is the world’s leading vehicle repair & replacement glass company. Perhaps best known by UK consumers for its Autoglass brand, the company is responsible for the handling of a delicate product in large volumes.
In order to ensure that the City & Guilds Manual Handling Train the Trainer course was well suited to the needs of the organisation, Alistair Bromhead undertook a site visit to understand the process, talk to site personnel and to watch handlers in action. This facilitated a better understanding of the business specific handling issues that were then focussed upon during the course.
In addition, the company had already conducted extensive training with handlers and one of the aims of running the City & Guilds certified course was to provide fresh ideas and innovative training techniques to keep the sessions interesting for both the trainees and trainers.
The 2 day manual handling train the trainer event was attended by participants from a cross section of the group’s businesses. According to Standards Manager Lameck Sithole, “the training was extremely beneficial. It was tailored to our needs and run in a very interactive manner to maximise the company specific benefits. The participants have been well equipped to deliver training to our handlers.”
