The Rugby Football Union recently called in Alistair Bromhead Ltd to run an Evacuation Chair Train the Trainer Course for a number of security managers. The one-day course covered all the technical and practical aspects of handling evacuation chairs and bringing people safely down flights of stairs at reasonable speed. It also included the design, preparation and delivery of training to teach others how to use them, so that in a worst case scenario they would be able to save lives.
The course has proved popular with all the delegates. They know that the RFU can now roll out the training to its stewards who will be even better equipped to deal with any emergency situation that arises.
As part of their total evacuation procedures, they will have absolute confidence in their abilities to bring out any vulnerable person in an evacuation chair. Members of the public will be even safer in the hands of the stewards at the Twickenham Rugby Stadium.
